Disclosure

All statesGoing to court

The obligation on each party to give the other copies of the documents relevant to the claim. Called discovery in some courts.

Disclosure covers medical records, employment and financial records, incident reports and correspondence, whether helpful or harmful to the party holding them. The injury schemes impose disclosure duties before proceedings as well, so the insurer usually has the treating records before a conference.
