What we do
We act, only for plaintiffs, in two areas: personal injury (motor accident, workers' compensation and public liability) and Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) claims against superannuation funds and life insurers.
We do not act for insurers, employers or defendants, and we do not take work outside these two areas. The narrowness is deliberate.
Every case on its own terms
Most of this industry runs on volume. Clients are signed at the front, and their files join a queue to be processed like everyone else's. It is how a busy practice pays for itself. It is not how a case is best run.
We work the other way. We take on fewer matters, and we take each on its own terms. Your case is read, thought about and run as the particular case it is, never as one file on a conveyor belt.
Straight advice
Plenty of firms will tell you what you want to hear to get you signed. We would rather tell you the truth. If a claim is weak, we will say so. If a sensible settlement beats years in court, we will say that too.
You get practical, straight advice from the start, even when it is not what you were hoping to hear. We think that is the most useful thing a lawyer can offer, and the rarest.
The person you meet runs your file
The lawyer who assesses your claim is the lawyer who carries it to the end. There is no handover to someone junior once the paperwork is signed, and no call centre between you and the person making the decisions. When you ring, you speak to someone who knows the file, because it is theirs.
A small, senior team by design
We cap the number of matters each lawyer carries. That is a rule of the firm, not a stage we are passing through. Fewer files means each one is read, thought about and pushed along by a senior practitioner, and it means we can say no to work that does not belong with us.
No win, no fee
Personal injury and TPD matters are run on a no win, no fee basis, and we do not bill for the initial assessment.
You are clear on the money from day one. The costs agreement is explained in plain terms before anything is signed, you know what is deducted at the end and why, and there are no surprises at settlement.
You can see your file
Every client has access to the client portal: your documents, what has happened on the matter and what comes next, available at any hour without having to ask. Your file has a name on it, and you can see it.
