A decision by a New South Wales insurer about a worker’s capacity to earn, which sets or changes weekly payments.
The insurer assesses the worker’s current work capacity and the income they could earn in suitable employment, and adjusts weekly payments accordingly. A worker can seek an internal review and then take the dispute to the Personal Injury Commission if the dispute is maintained by the insurer.
This definition is specific to New South Wales. The same term can work differently in another state, and the glossary marks each entry accordingly.
