What I do
I am a Partner at Tae & Partners, based in Sydney, acting for injured people across New South Wales in public liability, workers compensation and CTP claims, and for clients nationally in TPD and superannuation claims. Most people come to me at a point where an injury or illness has disrupted their work, their income and their routine all at once, and they are suddenly dealing with insurers, doctors and paperwork at the same time. My role is to take that weight off them, give them a clear picture of where their claim actually stands, and keep it moving so they can focus on recovering.
How I got here
After completing my law degree in Canberra, I was admitted as a lawyer in 2010 in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory. I spent the first three years of my career practising across a range of areas of law and appearing for my clients in the ACT’s Magistrates Court, Supreme Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, which gave me a broad foundation before I narrowed my focus. I then moved to Sydney and have practised in personal injury law ever since. Over that time, I have acted for injured people on claims of every size and complexity.
Values
Two things guide how I run a file: efficiency and getting the best possible outcome for the client. Personal injury claims have a habit of dragging on when a file sits idle, so I make sure matters keep moving and insurers keep being chased. Just as importantly, I believe clients deserve a straight answer. I would rather tell someone honestly what their claim is realistically worth and how long it may take than sell them false hope, because a clear, honest picture is what lets them make good decisions at a difficult time.
Outside the office
Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and travelling whenever I can get away.
